Don’t get me wrong – I love Bubbles, but I like to have time to myself or with just daddy or mommy every now and then. Remember, I was an “only bird” for 10 years, and while it’s nice to have two pretty hens around, sometimes I need a girl break! As you can see, I can find hiding places, but they usually find me.
Mommy says that’s what I get for being such a handsome, sweet fellow. She also thinks it’s what she calls the “boy phenomenon.” She has this theory that when there’s one boy amongst several girls, the girls tend to ignore each other and swarm toward the boy. She saw it with her cousins and her brother growing up – the girls would swarm toward her brother, because he was the only male in the group. And, like me, he just didn’t need all of that.
She said it also wears off in time. Once the novelty of the sole boy wears off, the girls usually settle, and she thinks this will happen with Bubbles. Come to think of it, Chloe chased me a good bit the first few months, until she got used to having a brother and Kung-fu body slammed and pinned me for stepping on her tail feathers. Hmm. I better pay attention to what she’s teaching Bubbles!
That’s all today. Take care, and have a great rest of the week.
Luv,
Zack
