1. Stephen King is a hell of a writer; and
2. People really do love their pets.
These are interesting observations that work together because, through all of the horror and drama of King's work, I did get the point that people love their pets - and one another - and don't want to lose them. We should appreciate the people, parrots, and all that bless us in life while they're with us.
Apparently, too, grief is something that has a tendency to override good sense. I tell you, I was ready to stab that doctor myself by the end. A ghost was even telling him "no Lewis, don't!" and off he went. What an idiot. If only the cat got him first then there would have been a lot less trouble. Oh well. Mommy said that if a ghost told her to stay away from the creepy Indian Burial Ground then she would sure as hell stay away - and she's skeptical of "spirits" herself. Shoot, she'd probably stay away anyhow just because, well, why would you go there? It makes no sense. And she doesn't like things that don't make sense.
So it was movie night. Old school horror, but it did have a point. And King really does have some good work. Personally, I recommend The Stand miniseries. It's pretty good, and not gory or gross or over the top. Not really horror at all, really.
And now for the popcorn. Zack and Chloe will be happy. Me too! I don't eat it myself, but I perk up and get peppy when the flock is active and happy.
Happy Friday everybody, and I hope you have a great weekend.
Luv,
Ollie
