Oh well, what can you do? Thankfully, we have wise parronts, and they've planned. The pantry is stocked, water is stored, batteries are charged and changed, and the gas logs are working just fine (as is the grill). Hopefully we won't need it, but we've made all of the preparations they suggested. Mommy even went to the pet store and picked up food for us. Yay!
I know our northern neighbors are probably laughing at us, but we're used to hot summers and mild winters. Southerners deep fry, not deep freeze.
On the positive side, there should be absolutely no insects or bugs this summer. If they aren't all dead by now, they should be.
