Hi everybody, I hope you're doing well. The parronts have had colds lately. Mommy got it week before last, and daddy got it late last week. They're recovered/recovering now, thankfully. It wasn't a bad one, but being sick is never fun.
There's another reason for the gaps in blogging: mommy has a monster case of writer's block. Seriously, it's bad. Since she finished the last draft of her trilogy, she can barely put together a social media post without a struggle. That's not unusual after she's worked on a writing project, and this trilogy is her biggest project yet. It's going to take a toll.
She's not worried. This writer's block always passes, and she's certain she'll be ready to move on it when it's time to start edits again in April. Until then, she's reading and turning to her crafting. She's working on a sunflower cross stitch, and trying to learn jewelry making. That's going slow, but she's confident she can do it. We're here to cheer her on, of course!
That's all today. I hope you're doing well. Take care! Have a fantastic Friday tomorrow and a wonderful weekend!
So, did you follow the Iowa caucuses last night? We checked in this morning once it was over, and mommy heard the commentary on the radio at work. Very interesting, to say the least. No doubt, the 2016 election is going to be an interesting race for both parties right up to election night. Mommy is somewhat interested in politics. Well at least, she likes to read political thrillers, and she is keeping an eye on things here and there. The parronts want to preserve as many brain cells as possible, so they don't get too into it.
And thanks to Milo for explaining how caucuses work on Twitter. Mommy got confused on how it was different from a primary and tried to look it up online, but apparently the Internet doesn't know what caucuses are either. We appreciate it being explained in plain English.
Mommy has a good reason for a foggy brain - she has a cold. It's amazing how people get in their cliques and groups at work, but they believe in sharing their germs indiscriminately. Humans are so weird. But then again, she isn't staying home from work. She believes that she caught it there, so staying away isn't helping because it's already there. Translation: she doesn't feel bad enough to use a sick day. But as colds go, this one seems mild, so she should be ok. She even cleaned our cages and exercised, so it must not be too bad. Birds can't catch things from humans, so the cage cleaning didn't put me and Zack at risk from catching nasty human germs. We just hope she feels better soon.
We've had a winter thaw here. It's been in the 70's. We've enjoyed the break from winter and even sat outside some over the weekend, but it looks like it will be brief, as they usually are this time of year. Rain's moving in tomorrow, followed by more seasonable weather - that's in the 40's - 50's here in South Carolina. I hear it's snow in places up north, so take care if you're in that area.
That's all today. We hope you're doing well. Take care, and have a great week.
These are the adventures of Zack and Bubbles, where we share niblets from our lives with humans and our online friends. Life is fun!
