I think it's that Carolina Wren that sat on the back bannister and chattered with Ollie ran his beak. It doesn't take long for chatter to get around the feeders and the woods, either. I see those hens out there, bunched around the feeder, and I knew they gossiped - but to be the object of it? This is scandalous!
Well, to set the record straight, we DO NOT have a vacancy. Our nest is at capacity. We have a perfect bird to human ratio right now, and we aren't looking to throw things out of balance. Sure, we miss Ollie, an awful lot. Daddy still gets sad, and mommy's haunted by making the decision to put him to sleep. Frankly, they aren't ready for another bird, even if they wanted one. I tend to agree with them - right now, things are fine the way they are.
I suppose it's flattering, really, that birds want to live here and share our home. It must mean we have a good reputation. And this is a good home. Still, we need to watch out for that feeder and tree chatter, and be sure to check your sources.
That's all today. Take care, and have a great week!
Luv,
Chloe
