Perhaps that’s the point. Maybe things would change if people held on to the optimism of New Year’s Eve, and actually followed through with those resolutions. Then we might actually see something new happen for a change. But alas, real life usually gets in the way. Mommy explained this to us. It’s easy to do things differently when you’re off work and sheltered from the expectations and demands of others and the world around you. Once you go back out there, though, it all starts pressing down on you, and human nature is averse to change. It’s difficult to keep that resolve to do better when the world around you is still the same old crap on a different day.
But she and daddy are trying. They’ve changed their workout routine since they got bored with the old one (and frankly probably plateaued, since they’ve done it for years). She also finished her rewrites and started writing new novel this week. It’s a Christmas sci-fi story. Strange I know, but you know mommy – instead of small town romance, the protagonist’s gift to the world will be saving it from certain doom. If mommy feels like it. Actually, the only thing that makes this a Christmas novel is that it takes place at Christmas. Oh well. I’m excited to help her with another writing project!
They’re also trying meditation. That’s having mixed results. I don’t know if daddy is totally on board, and there’s something about it that provokes me and Zack to mischief. Zack likes to say “no” to the mantras. Them "say, I am calm." Zack: "no." Them: Say "I am my best self." Zack: "no." I like to start quaking when they wrap up and brag about how relaxed they are. Them: "isn't that better?" Zack: "no." Me: pacing, throwing seed, and quaking. We shouldn’t do it, but it’s so much fun! Hey, they were the ones making resolutions. I’m committed to being my happy, spunky self!
That’s all today. Take care, and have a great rest of the week.
Luv,
Bubbles
