LAST SEEN: Early July.
Oh my goodness, it hasn’t rained in so long. The grass is dead, and there’s cactus growing along the driveway. I’m hearing that there are places where it won’t quit raining, and yet the Heavens have turned to brass here. Every chance of showers we have peters out in the blaze of 90-100 degree summer sun.
Welcome to high summer in SC, everybody! Believe it or not, this is normal. It gets hot, and the wind and rain stop. They’ll return sometime in October or November, when it’s cooler and we don’t want that mess anymore. Last year, we actually got some snow on November 1, which is virtually unheard of here (it didn’t last long or stick). On the bright side, there aren’t any tropical storms or hurricanes threatening, so I suppose that’s a blessing. We need rain; not a Biblical proportions flood!
In other news, I’ll have you know that I am standing on the new perch mommy bought us last week. I had to discretely test it out while nobody was looking (of course), but it’s passed inspection and I’m using it now. It’s a “you choose” perch, with a smooth foot soothing side, and a scratchy foot maintenance side. You can guess which side I prefer – the soothing side, of course! The new cozy corner is nice, too. I took to that right away.
Mommy asked that I thank all of you for your prayers, care, and concern while she's been sick and recovering from an ear infection. Twitter pals are the best!
That’s all for today. I hope all of you are doing well. Take care, and have a great week.
Luv,
Chloe
