I can see why she was shaken up, but people dismissed is at “um hmm, people drive bad, ok?” until this morning when two wrecks blocked up traffic on both Interstates, and SOMEBODY GOT HIT BY A TRAIN downtown. Yes, you read that right. I hyperlinked that capitalized text to the actual article for verification purposes. How does one get hit by a train? They aren't exactly stealthy. You can hear them coming a mile away - literally. I know from experience. There's a train track about a mile from our house as the conure flies, and we hear the cargo trains on it every night around 10 p.m. We listen for it. It's our bedtime whistle!
So Bubbs and I are working our own feathery overtime to snuggle, kiss, chatter, and overall “be sweet” to help the parronts wind down from the insanity of their day. I don’t get it. Why does back to school time trigger temporary insanity? I know it’s hot as the fifth layer of Dante’s Inferno out there in yet another heat wave, but folks, this isn’t a surprise. It’s summertime.
It’s August. You know that both the heat and back to school are coming at the same time every year. And yet, that train hits you anyway. Every. Single. Year.
Humans. You have those big brains, and yet you don't use them well!
So we’re busy doing our own job these days, and I hope we do it well. The parronts say we do. In fact, they say coming home to us is the highlight of their day. Good! That’s as it should be.
That’s all today. Take care, and have a great rest of the week.
Luv,
Zack
