Zack and I are glad for the weather. Mommy turned on the heat last night for the first time since April, and we were sleeping so good that he squawked at her when she woke us up this morning. We did get to catch up on that rest while they were at church and out to lunch. Fall is so pretty. The sky is a clear blue that you only see in September - November here, and the leaves will start turning pretty colors soon.
The only thing is the shorter days. I remember that Ollie used to get surprised by it around this time of year, and mommy trying to console him and tell him that it means the holidays will come, and then after that we have a short winter and the days will get longer and warmer again. I think she was partly trying to console herself. She said the same thing this morning, and that she hopes she adjusts to these days getting shorter soon or going on standard time next month is going to be a shock. She's ok with the cooler weather, but she misses the long days we have in June - August. I have to admit that we do too. We're sun conures, after all, and we like the sun.
It's all about trade offs, and appreciating what each season has to offer. At least we're lucky enough to live somewhere that has all 4 seasons to appreciate - and relatively short winters so it's not too bad when the world goes dormant. But thankfully, that's still a little ways off and we have a nice fall ahead of us.
That's all today. Take care, and have a great week.
Luv,
Chloe
